What's the Story?
In YOU AND EVERYTHING ELSE, writer and producer Ryu Eun-jung ( Kim Go-eun) hears through the grapevine that an estranged friend has given her a major nod as an influence in an awards speech. The former friends haven't spoken for ten years. Though Ryu Eun-jung has been writing about their relationship, she doesn't know what Cheong Sang-yeon (Park Ji-hyun, Flex x Cop) wants after a decade of silence. Will they reconcile? Or will the past get in the way?
Is It Any Good?
This well-acted effort about a complicated friendship features lots of charm and wistful time jumps. Nineties' nostalgia meets mid-2020's edge in You and Everything Else. Mature themes of illness and death in the main timeline are lightened considerably by dips into the main characters' pasts. Solid dialogue and fine performances keep the plot rolling. Fans of friendship narratives and tear-jerkers will get the most out of this touching series.
