Excited For Season 2!!

This show was amazingly done, had great acting, phenomenal cinematography, and good and bad messages. Has non-cliche POC characters, struggles with sexuality discovery, and realistic teenage things like acne, trying to fit in, and pleasing parents. Here’s what you need to know! Some spoilers (without names) may be present. Sex/Nudity: There are 4 slightly explicit sexual scenes in this show. The first one is a girl masturbating to a picture, nothing explicit, you see her reaching in her pants, and moaning and gasping, but her friend interrupts her. The second one is students of the school sitting at a table talking about last night’s party. One boy says he was gone down on by a girl. He proceeds to describe and say it was great. She contests saying he was terrible. The third one has one girl and one guy. He is having sex with her from the back, she is lying stomach down on the bed, and he is moving above her. He says something like ‘stop tightening I’m going to come’. You see him basically pounding into her (no explicit nudity, just his chest, and their hips), while she reaches her hand in between her legs. She starts to moan but he moves her hand back to the bed. She does it once more, and she closes her eyes this time, and they they stop as the guy proceeds to say she was thinking about someone else as she closed her eyes. The fourth one is between two guys. They kiss a lot as they undress to their underwear. They move against each other, and hump each other slightly. One boy kisses down the others chest as he moans. Then somebody takes a video of them, which is later posted online. The scene ends. There are three more non graphic scenes with no nudity. One where a guy and a girl kiss as he lifts her onto a table, and kisses her neck before the scene ends. The other one a guy and a girl kiss, and the camera focuses on her stroking him through his pants for a couple seconds, then the scene ends. The last one, two guys kiss in bed passionately, before they stop. You can only see their backs and chests. Swearing: It’s what you would expect for an MA show. Fuck, fucking, shit, damn, hell, idiot, all that stuff. Drinking/Drugs/Smoking: Drugs and drinking are present. Teenagers drink at parties, take shots, and drink from bottles. Drugs are illegally sold to students at the school. A boy pretends to have ADHD symptoms to try and get the ADHD drugs prescribed to him so he can take them. One guy gets high on a drug and lays on a football field half the night, delirious, before someone comes to help him. A boy steals drugs from his father. Basically minors drink and get high. Violence: Present throughout the show commonly. A boy gets into a fight at a party and he bashes his head with another guy. He is seen with scrapes on his face later. A boy is kidnapped, tied to a tree by his classmates dressed as clowns, and forced to go in his hands and knees while people ride his back for some initiation party. Many people spit in a cup and then a boy is forced to drink it, then vomits it all over the floor. There is punching, pushing people to the floor, and yelling. A girl’s leg and underarm hair is waxed and it clearly hurts. There is also a sibling death, and mention of suicide. Overall great show!! Note that the whole show is in Swedish. Personally I was blown away by this show, super impressed, and am so excited for the second season. A lot of people are saying 11/12+, but the sex scenes, drugs, and violence in this show is not for younger kids, hence the MA Netflix rating. However, for slightly older kids, this is a great show with good and bad messages. If you’re mature and are 14 or maybe 13, give it a try, you know your boundaries! But if you still laugh and giggle at sex, leave it till you’re older. Hope this helped!

Amazing but has some inappropriate scenes

I really liked it but it has some scenes where you can see students having drugs and getting drunk and there is even a scene where some students (potencial TW) spit in a cup and make a boy drink it. in some episodes you might find some sex scenes between a boy and a girl (you can see a bit of her body but no nudity, you can also hear them moaning), a sex scene between a boy and a boy (also no nudity) and a girl masturbating. Also, if you have emetophobia (I do), be careful in episode one because you will see a girl vomiting two times and a boy vomiting one time (i think) and it’s not really close but you can see liquid. There are some bad words like fu€k and h3ll and there isn’t a lot of violence but you can see a boy “head butting” another boy. Despite the negative things, i think its an amazing show and i would watch it a thousand times :)

It depends on the child's age, but it should be good for teenagers.

It's a great show with a great plot, though there are a lot of things that aren't appropriate for younger ages. The show includes sex, drugs, and violence. It depends on the child but the youngest age someone should be watching this ( in my opinion ) would be 12. Though, overall recommended youngest age would be 14.

This show is incredible, please watch it.--- One note though, the CSM review did not mention a big part of the plot(they really only covered the first two episodes), there's one scene where they're both in their underwear and Wilhelm's hand kinda goes into Simon's underwear, and one more scene (this one's not important) where there's a girl and a boy and it's clear they're not wearing pants, but nothing shown, they're wearing shirts (and socks... which is like hmmmmMmm)--- but yes, I'm SO excited for season 2, the cast and acting and relatability and everything is so incredible so please consider watching this :)

This show is great. There is sex but they are only topless. There is also some drinking and some use of drugs hence the 14+. wilhelm's struggles with his brother's death, the sex tape, the unsupportiveness of his parents, the burden of being the crown prince, and the change of schools just because of a fight. simon's father not being there, august owning him money he doesn't have because he bought simon's father alcohol and med, the change of schools and not being with his friends, the poorness and the sex tape.

In my opinion Young Royals is a great show for teens. The show accurately portrays teens appearance and struggles as well as contains lgbtq representation. This really sets Young Royals apart from many other drama series. I will say that the show contains frequent use of inappropriate language and brief mentions of suicide and pornography. Some of the other things parents may want to know is that the show contains underage drinking, drug use, and sex.
