Zombies: Addison's Moonstone Mystery
What's the Story?
The new school year at Seabrook brings on a new student and an unsettling mystery in ZOMBIES: ADDISON'S MOONSTONE MYSTERY. Addison (Meg Donnelly) and her friends gear up for the pep rally and all of the excitement that the year has to bring. All of that is derailed by a cryptic new student, Vanna, who seeks to ruin Addison and her friends. Once Vanna has them under her spell, will Addison be able to undo the damage? What truths will she uncover when she tries?
Is It Any Good?
Music is the only saving grace in this animated spinoff. That, and the fact that each episode of Zombies: Addison's Moonstone Mystery is only 2 or 3 minutes long. Clearly an attempt to further engage the Zombies series fans, it is better suited for those who are anxiously awaiting the next movie than for those who are looking to view it independently of its predecessors. The elementary writing, predictable plot, and overly dramatic voice acting do nothing to attract more viewers to the Zombies series. A better attempt would've been to create animated music videos featuring new songs and fan favorites. If the show was meant to be a spoof or satire, then it hit the proverbial nail on the head…or nail in the coffin?
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about truth and honesty in Zombies: Addison's Moonstone Mystery. Why is it important to tell the truth? Why does Vanna hide the truth? How does Addison respond when she finds out the truth?
Addison always sees the best in other people. How is this a character flaw in this show? How could she be welcoming to Vanna without being naive? Were her friends right to warn her?
How do you approach new people in your community? How do you feel when you are the new person in a setting? Why is it hard to be new?
