Cyber-bullying galore- not for kids

Gamespot was a great website a few years ago. But now, with very few filters and ads all over the place, it has become a rather poor website to visit. I can't say it isn't addicting, because it is. But with a huge cyber-bullying threat, who cares? If your kid is begging for an account on this site, say no. It's definetly not for younger kids, and tweens should stay away too. The worst thing about GS though is the shallow and boring user-created content. The blog options aren't anything to write home about, and profling is a large waste of time. Searching for friends isn't hard, but you have to be careful who you contact. Remember, usernames and blogs can be misleading. Overall, I don't think Gamespot will ever fully be the website that it was a little while ago- fun and ad-free.

videogame database is good for tweens, but when it comes to younger kids, parents should do the research

This is a good website if you're interested in gaming because of the large amount of information it holds. It has reviews for practically every major game on every console and includes walkthroughs, gameplay videos, and screenshots for many games. Of course, you will end up finding content (videos, pictures) for the games that are being reviewed, But they generally show the less violent parts of the game. A good feature is they make you input your birthday if you want to watch movies of rated m games, but it is easy to lie. So if you wouldn't want your kid getting any exposure to say, god of war or grant theft auto, Then you should probably keep your kid away from that site.

Perfect for people who can take bullying

You know what? On this site no one lets you have an opinion on things. You say a game is overrated or not good and people explode at you. You get banned for posting something in the wrong topic by accident.

A good site for walk-throughs and game reviews/ratings. There are reviews on all sorts of games. Of course, a lot of the games are violent. Also, covers of games are sometimes suggestive.

A good game site

This site is good, and while it does tend to encourage certain things, it's all from a gamers perspective. As long as you can separate fact from fiction, you can play any game. True, the game does display certain less appropriate imagery but, without that, how would you know it's there?
The whole idea of the site is to tell you about games. If it didn't include all the details, and wasn't written by someone who enjoys the game, every review would read exactly the same and would likely be biased, sort of like this site.

Good site for game reviews

I think this is a great site to go for game reviews. There is, of course, screenshots of games, some of which are violent.

Now come on...

The review of this website is complaining about how puts violence in a positive role, yet is it not true that most of those games that contain violence are played FOR the violence? People play video games to escape reality and do things that they would or should NEVER do in real life. When a person plays a video game, they do not play it and become immoral fiends, but instead stay the same way that they used to be, whether this was inherently violent or shy and affable. Now, it would be rather obvious if a small child was playing a violent or sexually graphic game that they would not understand what they were seeing, but that is mostly due to the fact that they have not been explained to by their parents what all of it is. Due to this, I do not believe that small children under the age of eight or nine should be allowed to see it, but it is only because of the aforementioned fact. Another fact of the matter is that one thousand years old, everybody was surrounded by violence and immorality, yet they did not go insane and start killing people without appropriate reason. This is one reason why I believe that people who claim that violence in the media and entertainment is the cause for the corruption of the present youth are wrong. The reasons why these people kill others are probably that they either have psychological issues and serious developmental problems, or that they are being threatened by those around them and the instinct to survive takes over their minds. So, now come on and stop complaining about such pathetic things as advertising violence on a website because in the end, like this review, it makes no difference at all.

Best game review site out there.

This is the best site for reviewing all games. For starters, unlike many sites, they don't show porn unless you are looking for it. Plus, the main review has NO profanity, so the only profanity that you will come by is the profanity you are looking for. Also, if you know which game you are looking at, just Google search the game and Gamespot and you can go directly to the game. There is very little to be concerned about with this site and I advise it when looking at games. The only problem is, like most critics, if one thing goes wrong, they criticize the whole game and make up stuff that isn't true about the game so don't believe everything that they say (they give Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games a 4.5 or something like that and much of the criticism isn't even true).
