Educational Value

3D MINI GOLF CHALLENGE wasn't created with educational intent, and we don't recommend it for learning.

Ease of Play

There are instructions for new players. While the pull-back-and-release method may be challenging for younger players to master at first, your "power" percentage is shown on the screen. And if you pull back too far and hit the ball too hard and go out of bounds, you can get an idea about what to do differently by seeing how far you pulled back last time.

Violence & Scariness
Sexy Stuff

A promo for another app pops up when you open this app for the first time. There's a "Shop" tab on the main screen to go to promos of more games by this publisher. During gameplay, promos for other (paid) versions of mini golf and other apps appear in between levels with "Try" and "Buy" options.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that 3D Mini Golf Challenge starts off with basic mini golf, but rewards persistence more than other similar games. Players can unlock more unique challenges and earn trophies as they earn points. This game clues players in on how to play more effectively and it mentions golf terms such as "par," "birdie," "2agle," and "bogey." Players can share high scores via the Game Center social network, but participation is optional.

What's it about?

First, select a male or female golfer avatar, then tap the first challenge card. Each challenge card contains a golfing hole -- some solo play, others against a computer opponent. As players drag a finger backward, away from the ball, an arrow shows the ball's aim, and a percentage of putting \"power\" rating also appears on the screen. Once the ball is in the hole, 3D Mini Golf Challenge displays the player's individual hole scores, total score, and par for each hole.

Is it any good?

3D MINI GOLF CHALLENGE gives players a lot of help and a lot of fun to look forward to if they keep playing up the levels. If your app golfer just wants to hit the ball far and hard, this isn't the game for him. But for kids who like the idea of working to unlock new levels of challenges, getting trophies, and refining skills, this game has a lot of fun to offer.
