Parents Need to Know

Parents need to know that Bonny's Triplet is a version of mahjong designed especially for kids. Instead of matching pairs of tiles to clear them, players tap single tiles to send them into a 7-tile "library." Tiles disappear completely when there are three of them in the library, but if the library gets full, it's game over. Bonny's Triplet offers kid-themed tile sets featuring animals, food, and fun patterns. The background music is soothing and kids will experience lots of positive feedback. The app has a two-player split screen version. A non-HD version is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Is it any good?

BONNY's TRIPLET makes "triplet" mahjong accessible to kids thanks to its colorful and appealing presentation and three difficulty modes, the easiest of which starts kids out with just one level of tiles to worry about. Kids will also get a kick out of an easy-to-use editing mode that lets them design their own boards to play (up to 3 can be saved at a time). The icing on the cake is multiplayer, which lets two players each take a half of the iPad and see who can complete their mahjong board first.
