What's It About?
Kids or parents can use BOOK WRITER - EBOOK, PDF CREATOR to create ebooks or PDF documents with pictures, text, and sound. Users can include images from the camera roll, drawings created in-app, text, and audio (including voice and background music) and can choose from several template options for the appearance of the book: landscape, square, or portrait with single or two facing pages. Books can be viewed within the app, shared by email as PDFs, or saved to Google Drive, Dropbox, or Evernote.
Is It Any Good?
This ebook creator is good for easily creating photo books with text or captions and audio narration, but more flexible options are available, so it's hard to justify paying for this one. Lengthier texts are a challenge because they have to be typed and edited in-app, as there's no option for importing text from Word via Google Drive or Dropbox (even though the epub books can be exported to those apps), and lengthy text boxes don't format correctly on the page, with words and letters cut off. The option to add songs or videos to the app is cool but doesn't work well.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about favorite stories from books, oral traditions, or the family itself and create a book together.
Try writing stories with your children, letting them take pictures while you add text, or vice versa, to create a story.
