Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that De Blob Revolution HD is a fast-paced maze-solving game that asks kids to think quickly on the go. The storyline is one about a colorful hero character who is racing through the prisons of an evil regime, freeing (and re-colorizing) the citizens of his sad, gray-toned world. On each level, the Blob must speed through a complicated maze, picking up as many of the prisoners as possible, and fleeing the bad robots at the same time. The real challenge comes in that the Blob leaves a colorful trail behind him as he moves -- and he cannot cross his own path. There is a non-HD version of the game available for iPhone/iPod Touch.
Is It Any Good?
DE BLOB REVOLUTION HD asks you to do a lot: You need to navigate a maze, free prisoners, and outrun bad guys all at the same time -- and you need to make sure you never cross your own path in the process. It may sound daunting, but the app is incredibly well constructed and a blast to play. It's also very colorful and visually appealing. You can get addicted quite easily, despite its challenging nature. At least the developers were merciful enough to put checkpoints at every doorway in their multi-room mazes; that way if you hit a dead end, or get caught by the bad robots, you only need to jump back a few steps. This is a fantastic fast-paced puzzle game.
