What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Disney Emoji Blitz is a match-3 puzzle game for iOS and Android devices. Kids can buy a number of boost items with coins, such as extra time or the ability to start out with a Blitz round and get extra points for clearing emojis from the board. They can also buy boxes to unlock additional well-known characters from The Lion King, Star Wars, Pixar movies, and more.. Packages of gems, sold for $1.99 to $94.99, can be used to buy coins or additional lives. Kids don't necessarily need to purchase anything, though -- they should be able to play for free without many problems. Otherwise, there's no inappropriate content in the game.

What’s It About?
Kids match well-known characters like Simba and Nemo in DISNEY EMOJI BLITZ. Each has special traits. Tinker Bell, for instance, creates random powerups with pixie dust. Combining three identical characters will clear them from the board. Linking more than three emojis creates special items with more intense removal abilities. Kids can tap on the emoji they chose to play with when it has an Emoji Charge to clear more items. Reaching goals, like playing two games with one chosen character, helps kids earn prizes and level up.
Is It Any Good?
Kids will likely enjoy being able to see and choose different Disney characters, ranging from Ariel from The Little Mermaid to Sulley from Monsters, Inc. As kids advance to higher Disney Emoji Blitz levels, they'll unlock more characters. They can also make occasional special moves in rounds, such as tapping on their character to use an Emoji Charge when it's available, indicated by a rainbow-colored lightning bolt on the character's information card. That will set off a reaction that clears a large amount of items from the board.
The structure is pretty standard for a matching game -- kids try to combine three or more like items to remove them. Matching more than three creates special items, such as a cloud icon that will clear an entire row. The rounds are timed, but a lot of potential match options are typically provided, so the pressure to find combinations doesn't feel too intense. The graphics are a bit above average. While they're nothing overly elaborate, the generally cheery, cute visuals include clouds drifting by in the background and characters that playfully stick out their tongue if you click on them. Like numerous other games, this one features some pushes -- or at least opportunities -- to spend money. Kids are given a fair amount of lives when they start, though, and probably won't run through all eight too quickly, so they shouldn't need to start buying items right away just to continue playing. As long as they can keep matching Mickey Mouse, Eeyore, and other faces for free, Disney Emoji Blitz can be a fun game -- and it's simple enough that younger kids should be able to play it without much difficulty.
