The parents' guide to what's in this app.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Flashcards Deluxe is a paid educational app for kids and adults to create custom digital flash cards that are helpful for studying and learning new information. Multiple formats and themes of flash cards are available within the app, so users can create interactive slides with photos, multiple-choice formats, and options to draw and write, which can appeal to a variety of learning styles. While there are many features available when personalizing flash cards, creating flash cards from scratch within the app is a complicated process that involves many steps, including data entry through several screens, so younger kids will likely need help. There's a shared section of the app where users can search by a specific term and have access to other users' downloads. Flashcards Deluxe Lite is a free version that allows users to try flash cards, with limited options, before buying. Read the app's privacy policy to find out about the information collected and shared.

What’s It About?
FLASHCARDS DELUXE gives kids an opportunity to explore content and learn new information by creating customized flash cards on their device to use when studying. Aside from a standard flash card with a front and back, there are options for interactive slides. Users are able to design multiple-choice formats, upload pictures, access the microphone to insert their own voice or sounds, and even create areas to draw or write answers. Kids can customize backgrounds and format the text on the cards to align and include bold, italics, underlining, subscripts, and superscripts. Slides can include bullets, outlines, and lists, and users can flag cards for further review. An in-depth help menu is available. Pre-made flash cards from a computer or another user are available with a shared directory. In order to track mastery and progress, users have access to the number of correct answers on quizzes reported over the course of a month.
Is It Any Good?
This paid education app is a different way to help kids with studying and learning new information by creating personalized flash cards that are eco-friendly and cost effective, but it's not the friendliest app to use. Flashcards Deluxe includes many features that aid in multisensory learning, as kids personalize the content they're studying by adding photos, sounds, bullets, and lists and even creating multiple-choice formats. Users will absolutely need to know all of the content ahead of time to create the flash cards, in order to design them efficiently and accurately. The process requires a lot of data entry through confusing menu screens. Definitely access the help menu for further information on how to properly add information in the correct format.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about how Flashcards Deluxe may help with independent studying, as this type of strategy is helpful to kids who may need to learn new concepts through repetition, such as practicing sight words, memorizing new vocabulary words, studying a foreign language, and learning math facts.
Talk about studying efficiently. Looking for ways to be environmentally responsible by minimizing paper waste? Consider the idea that paper index cards can become lost, take up a lot of storage space, and cost money over time. The app provides an unlimited number of customized flash cards that can be designed and used for studying anywhere, as long as you don't forget your device at home!
Discuss how to determine how much your kid has learned from studying. Built-in tools within the app give students and teachers a way to test knowledge through quizzes while tracking correct responses.
