A Lot or a Little?
What you will—and won't—find in this app.
Ease of Play
The game is lacking a strong tutorial. There are basic instructions in one of the menus, but it isn't always clear how to do certain actions or why.
Products & Purchases
There is a link from the main page of the app that displays other titles by the publisher and links through to the App Store.
Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Grand Prix Story is a racing simulation app that allows you to build cars, train a team, and race. Build your own racing empire as you work your way up through the ranks. The goal: Earn trophies, get sponsors, and win, win, win. The game starts slowly with one low-ranking car, but you'll unlock new cars over time and gain access to more races. Gameplay focuses on the use of resources and how to best build up your empire. It's geared more toward sim fans than racing fans.
Is It Any Good?
It's fun to cheer on your race car and take home a trophy in GRAND PRIX STORY. Unfortunately, the menus are confusing and there are abbreviations that aren't always clear. It takes patience to play and explore long enough to have it start to make sense. But, once you've figured it out, the app can be an enjoyable way to pass some time. Kids might be turned off by old-school pixelated graphics, but they're just all part of the quirky charm of this app.
