Adults only please.

Parents, please read the rating of a game, at the very least, before considering it for your child's library. Games often have explicit content and are rated for adults (M) for a reason. I highly recommend playing a game for a few hours before allowing your child to play the game. San Andreas, as well as other Grand Theft Auto titles, are games in which the lifestyle of: drug use, violence, sex trade, lawlessness etc is highly glamorized and presents children with a sense of disrespect to authority as well as a false sense of accountability. There is no "cool down" for killing innocent people, police officers, sexual assault etc, and impressionable minds may think there is. Although I have enjoyed playing all of the games in the GTA series, I am fully aware of each games contents and do not allow my son to play any of them in this franchise.

Sorry, No positive messages or role models here

Welcome to psychopathology 101. I played the regular platform game knowing the only message is the game promotes a life of crime and can be addicting. While it is the best game in the franchise. It is due to having the best soundtrack and choice of radio stations in the franchise. It is fun for the right age group which would be ideally twenty one or older and iffy between eighteen and twenty one. Even though your teens and maybe preteens may want this game I'd hesitate in getting them this game. The reason why positive messages and role models are not listed because there is nothin.

great game for mature 8 year olds and over

Although this game is violent its no worse than skyrim, boderlands, call of duty, wolfenstien or even assassins creed. The game has a strip club that players don't have to visit they have a choice not to. The game does have swearing which kids probably have already heard. The drug use is ok if your kids understand that drug abuse is unexceptionable .

Innapropiate, but alright for mature teenagers

Ease Of Play 67/100 This game can be stressful and addictive. Some missions can take hours to complete. Other missions can take 5 minutes, but most are long. There are barely any checkpoints, and you have to start from the beginning if you fail in a lot of missions. There are a lot of car racing missions where you race. There are a lot of these missions and the competitors are tough. If you do not 1st then you lose, and you have to go back to where the mission starts, which is pretty far away. The controls are also tough which is difficult in general, and especially difficult in racing missions. Also a lot of the missions are fun and action packed which makes many players want to play more. This game takes very long to complete, and then to get 100% completion there are even more missions you have to do. Educational Value 14/100 This game is not intended to be educational, but it does semi-simulate a gangsters life. It also takes place in 1992 in a parody of Los Angeles. This was a time when racism was a big deal. It also teaches players about corrupt cops and police brutality. Positive Messages 12/100 CJ is against drugs, and thinks they are bad for you. CJ can also get stronger by running, swimming, karate, boxing, and working out in the gym. This can maybe make people want to exercise more. Positive Role Models 23/100 Even though the positive role models aren't that good, there's still some. Even though the gangs hate each other all the gangs are good friends within their gang. For example even though Grove Street hates the Ballas and the Vagos they team up to try to destroy the other two gangs. Also CJ and Sweet get a long very well, and try to protect each other. CJ tries to make his friends happy, even if that means he has to relate to violent measures to solve his objectives. CJ is also forced to a lot of his violent actions to save him, loved ones, or other reasons. He is also tormented by corrupt police officers, though their actions get consequences. Violence 78/100 This is a very violent video game. The player can kill bystanders, cops, gangbangers, and more. The player can beat people to death with their bare fists, brass knuckles, baseball bats, knives, guns, and more. Whenever a person is killed a pool of blood is shown around it when it's dead. People scream and beg for mercy when they're being murdered. Peoples heads can be decapitated. There are also many violent motor deaths. For instance there is a demolition derby where people shoot at each other. Also you can run people over, sounds of broken body parts are heard in the process. With it being violent in freestyle also nearly every mission is violent. At the beginning of the film CJ's mother is killed in a drive-by by the Ballas. There are three corrupt police officers that torment CJ and his crew. They make CJ due these missions because they will blame him for the death of Officer Ralph Pendlebury (who they killed). They force him to kill a journalist who has dirt on them, shoot bad guys on a train, and do many more violent crimes. Other missions include killing Vietnamese gangsters, kill Ballas members under a highway, taking out helicopters with a rocket launcher, robbing a bank, and much more action packed missions. With the combination of freestyle violence, storyline violence, and gang violence it is very violent. Sex/Nudity 62/100 There are four stripclubs, plus one that is only in the storyline. In the ones the player can access outside of the storyline the player can either throw money at pole dancers (which make them have more sexual dance moves), or get a lap dance in the back for $100. There are three private dance sessions. The first dancer wears a skimpy school girl outfit, the second girl wears a corset and a thong, and performs slightly more sexual moves. The third girl wears a sexy cop outfit, and performs very erotic moves. Even though it is a strip club the strippers are always in a bikini. The stripclub in the storyline is Jizzys Pleasure Domes. Since it can only be accessed in the storyline you cannot do anything else rather than watch the cutscenes. Now the only difference is one of the pole dancers does not wear a bikini, and instead has two white stars covering her nipples. Besides the strip clubs there are also some nightclubs where the player can dance with people, though it is in a non-sexual context. Jizzy-B is a pimp and treats his prostitutes terribly. One line he says is, "B*****s get your pimp a drink over there". The prostitutes do what he says. He also says other sexist comments. Jizzys car is named the "Pimpmobile". Carl can have girlfriends and can go on dates with them. In one mission to get a keycard CJ gets in a gimp suit that he buys from a sex shop. Inside the sex shop there are adult light sabers and adult films. He then has sex with a girl in the suit. Nothing is shown, but some moaning can be heard. The player can pick up prostitutes in his car. In a scene a women may have raped Carl, because she moans and says, "Harder, deeper, faster". Though the camera does not show the scene and shows the outside of the house instead. Carl tells someone how when he was a child a condom got in his face. When Sweet gets in an argument with his sister he says, "Your dressed like a hooker". Officer Tenpenny says, "To get drunk and to get laid" when asked where are you going. There also more sexual references. Catalina tries to make Carl jealous of her new boyfriend. Carl robs a mans clothes and the man is shown in his pink underwear. Language 93/100 The language is very intense. Every scene practically has profanities. The most common profanity is probably the N word. Other very frequent profanities include f**k , s**t, g*******t, a*****e, b***h, and d**k. Milder language is also more rarely said such as a**, hell, and damn. Very mild language such as stupid, fool , and dumb is occasionally said. There are also sexist words such as s**t. The language is one of the worst I have ever seen. Consumerism 12/100 There are no real brands featured, but there are parodies such as Sprunk being a parody of Sprite. Smoking/Drugs/Alchohol 55/100 There are some bars in the game. The bars have a bartender at the place, and have alchohol bottles at the back of the bar. You can also bring your girlfriends to bars and have drinks at the bar. In one mission Carl puts drugs in a mans car. Police come to the scene and discover drugs in the trunk. A cop comments about how there is tons of "mary" in the trunk. CJ and his crew beat up a drug dealer in their neighborhood. CJs old friend became a drug addict. Officer Tenpenny takes a hit from a bong, and the bong is visible. People on the street are shown on drugs. A lot of people smoke. Ryder is an especially big smoker. Quality 80/100 GTA SA is a cool game to play. It has very heavy content though it's okay for mature teens.

GTA San Andreas (2004) San Andreas takes place in within city called Los Santos "which is a fictional version of L.A." The 1990s was the most violent time to live in L.A as well!

This game is very violent. You can free roam around the cities and kill anybody you want. You can even kill people in brutal ways such as, setting them on fire, chopping their heads off with a sword, slit their throats with a knife, blow off their heads with a shotgun or sniper rifle, you even cut through people with a chainsaw! And then the swearing... This gta game probably has the most uses of the F word & N word than any other gta game! So many offensive things are said throughout the game. There is quite a lot of sexual themes in here. You can go to strip clubs, pay for a hooker, wear a sex suite, have sex with your girl friend, and even use a dildo as a weapon... So far we know that this is not suitable to for children, but I am just gonna add this in. There is strong drug use throughout this game. Some characters smoke pot, some use cocaine, some drink alcohol etc. I recommend only 17-18 and up.

Probably one of the best satirical games ever made.

Quick lesson for when choosing a game for your child or children: read the back of the box. If you choose to allow someone to play a game that is a higher rating, then that is just what you chose, but don't complain later if you didn't heed this lesson. The game contains some hilariously obscenes amount of, but not limited to: violence, gore, language, drug use, tabacco use, alcohol use, racial stereotypes, religious stereotypes, and etc. *Note: the version missing audio only appears in PIRATED versions of the game, as the popular versions of the illegal copies are missing nearly all SFX and GNRL audio files. Why Chris decided to add to add that to his review is beyond me.
