A lot or a little?

The parents' guide to what's in this app.

Ease of Play

Very easy to use. There are only three options, and no reading is required unless a kid wants to post or send a recording of the penguin via Facebook or email.

Violence & Scariness
Sexy Stuff

The penguin will repeat any word that a player speaks and records into the device, including inappropriate words or phrases. If a kid records inappropriate language and then sends the video of the penguin via Facebook or email, whoever receives it will hear the penguin using inappropriate language as well.

The main page appears just like a like a movie promotional poster, complete with actors' names and release date. The "More Games" tab connects kids to the movie's website, which includes more stuff.

Drinking, Drugs & Smoking

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that adorable Erik the penguin, the star of the movie Happy Feet Two, plays drums, fishes, and repeats whatever kids say on the free app Happy Feet Two. This is a fun, easy app for especially the youngest fans of the movie. The penguin responds to kids' touch, acting like it's being tickled, giving a high five, dancing. The drumming game is good practice in repeating patterns. Kids can record Erik's actions and voice playbacks, then share them via email or Facebook, which is cute -- as long as kids don't get the idea it would be fun for Erik to get a potty mouth.

happy feet 2

i think that this movie is good for little kids.

Is it any good?

HAPPY FEET TWO: THE PENGUIN APP probably doesn't have enough interesting elements to keep kids coming back time and again, but it will likely be entertaining for those who have just seen and enjoyed the movie. It definitely wins a lot of points on cuteness alone, as long as kids don't think it's cute to make Erik repeat potty words. The drumming and fishing games are really simple, so even the youngest fans will be able to enjoy this app. And it's free, so why not?
