What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Hidden Hotel: Miami Mystery is a hidden-object puzzle game for iOS and Android devices. There's no inappropriate content in the game. Using simple touch controls, players have to find specific objects in a picture that's full of them. The faster you find them all, the more you earn. Also, by clearing puzzles, you get to decorate your new hotel, and maybe solve the mystery that lurks within its walls. On the commercialism front, players can use in-game currency they earn by playing or watching ads, or buy it with real money, to keep playing or to buy helpful hints. Read the developer's privacy policy for details on how your (or your kids') information is collected, used, and shared, and any choices you may have in the matter, and note that privacy policies and terms of service frequently change.

What’s It About?
In HIDDEN HOTEL: MIAMI MYSTERY, you've inherited your grandfather's old hotel, and you have to fix it up because it's a mess. To do this, you have to search the rooms -- or rather, search pictures of the rooms -- for such objects as a broom. There are a bunch of cobwebs that need removing, as well as a bunch of other things that have nothing to do with cleaning or decorating. Finding items gives you a chance to fix up or upgrade parts of the hotel that have seen better days.
Is It Any Good?
Though fairly typical, this found-object puzzle game/hotel restoration simulator is still reasonably challenging and fun. In Hidden Hotel: Miami Mystery, you've inherited your grandfather's old hotel, which is in need of a good cleaning and some new furniture. But instead of getting a loan or hiring a cleaning crew, you do it all yourself by looking for specific objects in pictures that are full of all sorts of items. The faster you find them, the better your score. Plus, once you do, you can get your assistant to clean up parts of the hotel or you can choose what kind of fireplace to install.
Now, as hidden-object puzzle games go, this is pretty typical, and it doesn't add anything to the formula. But then, the formula still works, which is why this is still challenging. You wouldn't think so, but it can be tricky finding your keys in a picture full of pipes, brooms, cell phones, and other stuff Grandpa left lying around. Which is why, despite not bringing anything new to the table, Hidden Hotel: Miami Mystery is still more fun than booking a hotel room online.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about advertising. Hidden Hotel has some ads, but not as many as other apps, and they're optional. So how does that make you feel about this game?
Given that you can earn Hidden Hotel's currency by playing or watching ads, does it make sense to spend a lot of money on this game?
