What parents need to know

Ease of play

Even the easiest levels require strategic thinking in how to reach various acorns trapped in caves and other tight spots. These can be puzzled out eventually and Scrat made to build a path to the prize, but a zoomed-out view sure would help.

Violence & scariness

Scrat can be made to push some enemies from great heights.

QUALITY

Ice Age fans need no other reason to try out this inexpensive game. The backgrounds and animated characters are simply stunning, like scenes out of the movie. Another big draw is the star of the game, the adorable saber-toothed squirrel Scrat, who needs help collecting over 300 acorns in four prehistoric environments. Tap to make him jump, scamper and push obstacles out of the way. Ice Age pals Manny, Ellie, Diego and Sid - plus a few enemies who must be avoided - join along the way.
