Jet's Bot Builder: Robot Games
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's It About?
JET'S BOT BUILDER: ROBOT GAMES is a space-themed puzzle game for kids. Kids join Jet and his team on an explorative journey from Earth to the moon, Mars, and further into space. At each stop, kids must outfit a robot with the right tools, such as foam-spraying arms and all-terrain treads, to navigate the environment and locate building hardware. As they progress, they use the hardware to build new arms and legs for the robot, and to customize it with paint colors. Kids will need to drill into the ground, leap over obstacles, fly over gaps, and build foam platforms to succeed in this game. Each level has a set number of objects to find, along with three stars. Kids have to plan accordingly to find the three stars before the objects in order to get full credit for the level. The experience is adaptive, so each child will have a set of puzzles that's unique to his or her abilities.
Is It Any Good?
Customizable robots and missions in space are a winning combination for kids who enjoy puzzle-solving games. Jet's Bot Builder: Robot Games finds the perfect balance between the overbearing helpfulness that some kids' games employ and the hands-off approach of games for adults and older kids. The later puzzles require a lot of part-changes to solve correctly, and kids will have to persevere to complete levels. There are also moments where the wrong part may make it seem like you're stuck, which could be frustrating; parents can help prompt kids through the process. Luckily, kids can progress by finding the missing parts, and those who want a challenge can work on the strategy necessary on some levels to earn three stars. Overall, Jet's Bot Builder: Robot Games is a fun option that provides some age-appropriate challenges.
