What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Kickin Momma HD is a puzzle-type arcade game in which you need to launch baby monsters into an arrangement of pegs, sometimes resulting in their peril. The monsters bounce around, grabbing gems that lie among the pegs. Parents should know that the comically bizarre premise behind the action is that Momma Monster wants a necklace, but doesn't have the money. Then she notices that there are tons of gems for the taking just on the other side of a cliff. She enlists her children to help her collect them, in a process that involves Momma kicking the little monsters into the air to snatch the jewels for her. The kids appear to be eager participants in this scheme, even as they sometimes smash into rocks and get blown up by bomb obstacles that appear on later levels.

Is It Any Good?
KICKIN MOMMA is a fantastic physics-based arcade game with an ounce of chaotic randomness that adds extra excitement. The game has great controls that allow you to aim your shots (or kicks) very precisely, but once the bouncing baby monsters are loose within the field of gems and pegs, you can never be exactly quite sure which way they'll bounce. The physics isn't faulty, it's just hard to predict, as in the also-excellent Peggle. The idea of a mother kicking her children off a cliff into a field of dangerous obstacles may make some cringe, but the game plays it up as silly fun. If anything, it's the stereotypical idea that "Momma wants jewelry" that might need some dispelling for kids.
