MOOZART is a whimsical app that lets kids have fun with different barnyard sounds while learning about pitch and rhythm. Kids create music by dragging symbols representing different sounds onto a Treble Clef staff. There are no time signatures or bars, but kids can create the rhythms they want by leaving more space in between the notes. Chords (multiple notes sounding at the same time) are also possible. The app would be even better if there were instructions for parents and a way for kids to save or share their musical creations; but its colorful and easy-to-learn presentation is good fun for preschoolers.
