Ease of Play

While kids will quickly figure out how to make art with this app, there are no instructions, it isn't immediately intuitive, and the interface is very limited. Once kids place a paint splatter or other shape, they can't move it around or change its size.

What parents need to know

Parents need to know that Paint Splatter is an art creation lifestyle app that allows kids to express themselves through paint splatters. However, the controls are very limited and it isn't possible to edit artwork as you go, except to undo your actions in reverse order. Kids can save and share their creations via email, but there are no major safety concerns.

Is it any good?

The interface of PAINT SPLATTER is difficult to use and is missing many customary controls in art creation apps. Users are only able to choose, place, and size a variety of paint splatters, squares, and rectangles, and a few basic black shapes. Other than undoing past actions in reverse order, users are unable to edit anything. Each item placed in the artwork can be sized as it is placed, but no other aspect can be controlled, such as color or rotation. If your kids are particularly drawn to art made out of paint splatters, this app might be a good choice. Otherwise, your kids may be left wanting more.
