What’s It About?
To play PINKFONG WHO AM I? choose one of 10 play areas. Tap Animal Sounds Fun to listen to the cute songs. During the songs, tap the pause, fast forward, or rewind icon, if desired. Tap the tractor icon under Animal Sounds Fun. Stop at the cow and hear its name. To see more animals in the game, players must unlock the $10.99 in-app purchase. Tap the Home icon to return to the main screen. Tap the "?" icon under Animal Sounds Fun to match the animal to its sounds. The Jungle Boogie area is also accessible on the free version. Other areas accessed via in-app purchase include: Under the Sea, Night Animals, Whose Tails, and more.
Is It Any Good?
The songs are catchy and the characters are colorful, but this preschool app carries a hefty price tag to access most of the animal fun. Many preschoolers may have a very difficult time distinguishing what content is available to play in the free version of Pinkfong Who Am I?. The app allows kids to tap into the activity before the in-app purchase message appears, which could frustrate many young app users. The animal sounds, songs, tails, and puzzles here are cute, light learning. Is it worth $10.99 to access it all and limit kids' disappointment with tapping most areas and discovering they're inaccessible? Probably only if your kid is a huge Pinkfong YouTube channel fan.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the animal sounds and characteristics viewed on Pinkfong Who Am I?. Bring some of the app's games into real life. Play act the animals roars, howls, and hisses. See if your kid can guess what animal you're pretending to be. Encourage them to try some animal sounds and you guess who they're imitating.
Sing along while playing on the app, in the car, anywhere! The catchy songs with fun, rhythmic learning may be the most compelling reason to consider purchasing full access.
If you're not going to buy the full version, pre-warn your kid about the limited access on the free version of Pinkfong Who Am I?. Some kids may be satisfied with playing the few games and listening to the songs available on the free version; others may become quite frustrated that when they tap on many options, they won't be able to try them on the free version.
