What's It About?

PRESCHOOL PUZZLE TOWN is an app from Highlights with five different types of puzzles geared at preschoolers. There are the classic hidden picture puzzles that Highlights is known for, and lots more: a matching game, a picture puzzle, mazes, and difference-finding. The app starts with 50 puzzles and adds five new puzzles each week. As kids complete the puzzles, they slowly hatch eggs that release new creatures into their game world where kids can play with them, feed them, and dress them up in different hats.

These puzzles are a great way to engage young kids in multiple skills at an age-appropriate level. Preschool Puzzle Town from Highlights has all the makings of a wonderful kids' app: It's colorful, entertaining, open to exploration, and fun. It's more challenging than a free-play environment, but it doesn't feel like a heavy-handed educational experience either. Kids can replay the puzzles, and the weekly new puzzles keep things fresh. The monthly subscription fees will start to add up quickly, however, so take advantage of the free trial to see if it's a good fit for your kid.
