What's It About?

As always Charlie Brown can't seem to win in THE PEANUTS MOVIE OFFICIAL STORYBOOK APP no matter what he tries. But despite his limited success flying a kite or getting good grades, he is honest, kind, and caring. Unlike many of the older Peanuts cartoons, there is redemption for Charlie Brown in the end, and he's celebrated for inner traits rather than accomplishments. Kids are free to read the 19-page book on their own, or they can listen to a narrator and watch the text as each word spoken is highlighted in sync. There are also six coloring pages with a host of drawing tools to add a creative element to the package.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 3 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

This introduction to the Peanuts gang features characters that look just like they do in the film, excellent narration, and fun coloring pages, but it won't have much replay value. The strongest selling point is its message: You don't have to do great things to be a winner. Instead, it's all about who you are. In terms of navigation, it's definitely easy to get around the app, but some kids will want to touch the screen while listening, which stops the audio; they'll have to start that page all over again if they want to continue. Also, there are no touch points, animation, or interactivity on the digital pages, and though the coloring pages are fun and again look good, you get very few. So, though there aren't a ton of features, it's a cute app with a positive message that will definitely appeal to fans.
