Is It Any Good?
THOMAS & FRIENDS: MISTY ISLAND RESCUE FOR iPAD is an incredibly well-done interactive picture book. The story is exciting for young kids and easy to follow, and the interactive bits on each page are well-marked (with light-up spots) so that kids can figure out what they're supposed to tap. There's a nice deal of variety among the interactions, too -- some are triggered animations, some are sounds or voices, some are moving parts that react with real-world physics. It's all very impressive. Plus, you get a nice package of bonus activities as well: coloring pages, jigsaw puzzles, and connect-the-dots puzzles that become animated scenes when completed. Thomas fans will absolutely adore this app.
