Cute, original puzzler with fantastic rewind feature.
A Lot or a Little?
What you will—and won't—find in this app.
Ease of Play
Though Toki Tori is a challenging puzzle adventure, the rules and controls are simple -- and there's a brilliant feature that allows you to rewind the action if you see you've made an error. You can take your game back to any previous point and start over from wherever you made your mistake -- as opposed to being forced to redo the entire level.
Violence & Scariness
While there are "bad guys" in the game -- monsters or creatures that serve as obstacles to be avoided -- coming in to contact with those enemies only means you need to start the level over.

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that the cuteness of Toki Tori is not meant in any ironic or satirical way (as adorable characters in app games often are). This is a genuinely cute, family-friendly puzzle adventure, which requires a lot of analytical thinking, but which can be enjoyed by younger kids as well as by tweens, teens, and adults. Parents and kids can even puzzle their way through cooperatively, talking out the best strategies as they go.

Is It Any Good?
TOKI TORI is an adorable baby chick adventure. It is also a wonderfully challenging puzzle game. On each level you have to plot the best course -- through a maze of cliffs, platforms, stairs, pits, and sometimes enemies -- in order to pick up all the lost eggs on the level. Many times, there are eggs in places that will get the chick stuck -- and its journey through that level would normally be over. However, an excellent rewind feature lets the player erase any mistakes and simply jump back in time to a point before the goof. Toki Tori is brainy cuteness at its best.
