What's the Story?
With only 5 MORE SLEEPS ‘TIL HALLOWEEN, kids are excitedly thinking about costumes, scary (but not too scary) trick-or-treating, corn mazes, costumes (again), and all things spooky. The countdown is on, each night bringing Halloween closer and the anticipation higher as ghosts, witches, dinosaurs and bats get ready to celebrate!
Is It Any Good?
The illustrations are an absolute delight in this countdown to Halloween, with exaggerated expressions capturing the perfect balance of spooky and silly as kids focus on costumes and candy and more. Jimmy Fallon's Five More Sleeps ‘til Halloween is a lovely read-aloud, with fun rhyming and lots of chances for kids to yell "BOO!" at the top of their voices. Parents might like to point out how patient the kids are about waiting for their Halloween fun—and kids would like to ignore that. Either way, this fantastic picture book captures the spirit and high energy of the fall season.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about what they like about Halloween, like the kids in 5 More Sleeps ‘Til Halloween. What are your favorite things to do that day? Is there anything other people like to do that you aren't as excited about joining?
What are your Halloween traditions?
What do you think is a reasonable bedtime on Halloween? The main character shows good self-control about bedtime on the exciting night. Would you be able to do the same? What is easy for you to have good self-control around? What's hard? What helps when it's hard?
