What's the Story?
BARBIE DREAMSCAPE is the story of perfect Barbie, who's worked hard as long as she can remember to get top grades and excel at everything she tries. All that hard work is about to pay off when she's named valedictorian of her class. But on the day the graduates' future careers are announced, Barbie suffers the biggest humiliation of her life. Against the wishes of Robin, the headmistress who raised Barbie after her mother died, Barbie decides to travel to a distant realm through unknown dangers for the chance to confront the Fates and change her destiny. Her journey takes her to places of tremendous beauty, to Rock Bottom, and into the dungeon of a dark lord determined to gain more and more power at any cost. Is Barbie strong enough, smart enough, and brave enough to change her destiny?
Is It Any Good?
Barbie fans of all ages will enjoy this exciting fantasy adventure that's full of all things Barbie, and more pink than imaginable. Barbie Dreamscape is aimed at a slightly younger audience than the popular Lightlark Saga series by veteran Alex Aster, but the author's fans will no doubt be pleased reading about Barbie's heroic journey of self-discovery. She shows real grit and determination while brimming with her famous positivity, and without being too precious or sweet. Some of her adventures repeat the same theme too many times, but the fast pace keeps the pages turning to the satisfying ending.
