What's the Story?
EUROPA finds the City Spies settling into their new life in a secret location—but the peace and quiet are not to last, as MI6 intercepts messages suggesting bomb plots in progress at assorted unknown locations, with only sparse clues. One of them suggesting that Clementine, long lost wife of the kids' adoptive dad and now in witness protection, is involved. It's all part of an elaborately unfolding plot by the villainous Le Fantôme to get out of prison and resume his nefarious ways, and he has a lot of resources at his disposal. Sydney's talents with explosives are soon called for, not to mention Brooklyn's hacking skills, Kat's puzzle-solving abilities, Paris's leadership and Rio's quest for more responsibility come to the fore as they team with adult spies and head for assorted world capitals.
Is It Any Good?
James Ponti's latest youthful espionage thriller finds the characters taking on more responsibility, strengthening their bonds, blowing things up, and keeping villains from bombing world capitals. It's always a pleasure to watch these characters develop, interact, and grow, and Europa is no exception as the team splits up and travels to various destinations. Sydney's talents with explosives come to the fore as Paris becomes a strong leader. It's a fast-moving, page-turning tale packed with history, especially of spycraft, and much pondering of its dangers and impact on people's lives as adulthood looms and the team members wonder if it's the career for them.
