HEROES WEAR MASKS: ELMO'S SUPER ADVENTURE guides young readers through possible changes in routine during a pandemic. Elmo is returning to school and feels anxious about all the new things he has to do and remember for his day. He and his mommy talk about washing hands, social distancing, doing school from home, temperature checks, wearing masks, and more. Filled with tips about wearing and using masks just like superheroes do, the book also has tips for keeping healthy and dealing with school anxiety.

Rooted in kindness and written with straightforward language that's perfect for young children, this book is an excellent resource for families heading back to school or navigating life in a pandemic. Heroes Wear Masks: Elmo's Super Adventure speaks directly to some of the big feelings and varied situations kids face, and does this with vulnerable sweetness. There's a lot of great information about how and why to wear masks, and equal attention to the way these changes can make us feel. Elmo's approach is wonderful for all ages; parents would benefit from using some of these health and safety tips as well.
