What's the Story?

LITTLE BLUE TRUCK LOST AND FOUND begins with Toad and Blue loading up the truck bed with hay for a hay ride. Then after Blue drives a while, he realizes that Toad is no longer with him. He asks the other barnyard animals if they've seen Toad, and they all say no, but are eager to help look for him. They do their best, but Blue finally returns home without him. But then Hen points out, "This hay is SNORING, Little Blue Truck!" Then Toad pops up from his nap, and Blue says, "He was with me all the way. Toad was sleeping in the hay." Then Hen tells Blue, "All of us were worried too. You care for Toad, as good friends do." Then they all pile onto the truck and get their hay ride after all.

This lighthearted story of an animal who appears lost and is then found by his devoted pals solves a mini-mystery and makes a bigger point about what it means to be a good friend. Little Blue Truck Lost and Found shows the friends joining together and going out of their way to help out. And as with the other books in this series, the rhymes are clever and Blue is unfailingly helpful, generous, and compassionate. He's a positive role mode for little ones, as are all his animal friends.
