Is It Any Good?
This informative and inspiring biography series for young readers focuses on a wide-ranging group of over 100 notable people or "dreamers" from many times and places are all well worth knowing. In the Little People, BIG DREAMS series, each person's life is distilled into a succinct and accessible biography that follows a prescribed format, tone, and style. The varied art by more than 70 different illustrators often complements the text. Emphasis is on setbacks and challenges to be overcome, achievements, and fulfilling dreams. Personal problems are not overlooked. Kids might have particular fields of interest and read just one or two books, or they might like reading about notable people and zip through the series. These biographies build knowledge of the world (e.g., art, history, and STEM). They also inspire perseverance and encourage kids to follow their own dreams.
