What's the Story?

In POPULARMMOS PRESENTS A WHOLE NEW WORLD, Jen, Pat and Carter must rescue Pat's best friend Bumby from Evil Jen and the zombies she's dispatched to kill Good Jen. When the frenemies fall down a hole and find themselves in Evil Jen's world, they run into other friends, including Captain Cookie, who insults everyone on his ship, and Mr. Rainbow, the magical sheep who gives each member of the trio a mystery box to help them fight Evil Jen. The group has to find the castle, battle zombies with swords and ingenuity, save Bumby, and get home before time runs out.

Is It Any Good?

Filled with eye-popping illustrations and action, young readers who love Pat + Jen's YouTube channel will also enjoy their adventures. PopularMMOs Presents A Hole New World is a fast read, and the story is a standard good vs. evil zombie adventure with a hefty dose of Minecraft that will keep readers' attention. But Carter's continuous pursuit of Jen (despite her relationship with Pat) and Pat's irritated response puts the female lead in the role of peacemaker – albeit a strong, determined one who's unafraid of hand-to-hand combat. There's nothing educational about this book, but it does keep readers engaged and gives them a place to let their imaginations run wild.
