Keeping to the tradition of the Rebel Girls series, this volume delivers a wide range of accomplishments by mother and daughter duos that are sure to inspire. Like it's counterparts before it, Rebel Girls Powerful Pairs: 25 Tales of Mothers and Daughters covers women from many different countries, backgrounds, interests, and abilities to create a truly inclusive set of role models for the young girls (and boys!) in your life. While tough topics like war, bullying, racism and sexism are addressed, it's done with simple language in a very age-appropriate way.

There are enough social media and pop culture personalities your kids might know to grab their interest. Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy are the first pair featured. And alongside them are lesser known but truly spectacular women who are sure to make an impression. A few favorites include the mother who coached her blind daughter in barrel racing and the Davis', who worked tirelessly in community outreach in order to reach nearly 100 percent Covid-19 vaccination levels in their native Alaskan village. Readers will appreciate that the stories focus on the power of the mother-daughter bond while including some of the real aspects of that relationships, including frustration and disagreements. Each page-long tale is accompanied by a beautifully illustrated portraits by 23 female and nonbinary artists from around the world, making this a perfect bedtime read.
