What's the Story?
SONG OF THE SIX REALMS is the story of Xue, now 17, but who was orphaned as a young child. Raised by a beloved uncle, when Xue was 12 he brought her to live and work under contract in a prestigious entertainment house, where she could cultivate her musical talent and skills playing the qin. After her first, triumphant public performance, a mysterious young man offers to buy out her contract and bring her to play for him in his mountain palace. But why? Life in the palace is not what Xue expected, but one thing's certain: It's not giving up its secrets easily.
Is It Any Good?
This is an absorbing fantasy that combines elements of mythology and folklore with a compelling mystery that keeps the pages turning. Author Lin skillfully builds a world and mythology that's deep, sweeping, and easy to follow. Her characters are colorful, realistic, and easy to root for. All of which combine into an epic backdrop for exploring grief, love, destiny, choice, and more.
