What's the Story?

As TERRY'S CREW opens, young Terry Crews can't wait to start at Rock City Academy and perform in the talent show. His new friends -- future engineer Rani and walking encyclopedia Xander -- want to help, but the project becomes too elaborate, and Terry's grades are at risk. The Academy's star football player wants Terry out of the show. Luckily, Terry has his crew to back him up.

Kids sometimes can't gauge how much work something takes, and this heartwarming graphic novel encourages setting realistic goals. Terry's Crew captures the excitement and awkwardness of being the new kid. Cory Thomas' artwork crackles with middle grade energy, and Crews' storytelling skills are given a thorough workout.
