This Poison Heart, Book 1

Very very good! Sort of a contemporary / fantasy / mystery / thriller / myth / horror sort of genre :) A fair bit of swearing, if you haven’t been exposed to much bad language I wouldn’t recommended reading, and a bit of violence. Overall, suitable for 12 and up. Based on a Greek myth as well as lots of things about plants and poison, so lots of educational value. Good role models too - main character is a bi (I assume, she’s had both gfs and bfs) black girl with two mums. A great read, would recommend mainly to younger teens.

Omg I love this book. It's one of my favorite books of all time and I can read it over and over again without getting bored. Ngl not the biggest Fantasy and myths fan but this book is great. Some small drug references but nothing major. The book has some romance but nothing too much. The book is super diverse with a black bi lead with supporting characters almost all being black and some other gay characters—amazing role models for anyone. However, the end is pretty violent and ends on a cliffhanger so the sequel is a must.
