This simple story accomplishes much. What Do Brothas Do All Day? humanizes and demystifies the lives of Black American men and boys, for those that are curious. It also celebrates the lives of Black American men and boys and calls for pride and joy to be taken in everyday activities. The story is a nice balance between the ordinary and extraordinary qualities of Brothas' lives. Ajuan Mance's illustrations are colorful and bold. Young readers will easily be able to follow the story and the relatability can lead to fun discussions.
