What's the Story?
In WINGS OF REVERIE, Periwinkle is one of the most popular fairies in the Winter Woods, with great friends, a talent she loves, and the attentions of the handsome, if dull, sparrow man Fletcher. Periwinkle discovered a bit of magic while walking close to the Spring border. One that's given her the power to dream, something she's kept secret from even her closest friends. Then one night, she meets Weaver, a surly sparrow man she's seen but never met, who has the power to collect dreams. He tells her that the Pixie Dust Root is tainted by nightmares. He needs her help to save it, but they'll have to work together without anyone else knowing. Will Periwinkle find a way to both save the Pixie Dust Root and break through Weaver's icy demeanor, or will her secrets prove too much to bear?
Is It Any Good?
This teen romance is a sparkly, adventure-filled foray into the Winter Woods of Pixie Hollow. Wings of Reverie combines magic, high-stakes, and romance into a charming story that proves dreams are what we make them. The story is sweetly written, and author Anna Bright weaves in some gentle messaging around being true to yourself and the power of forgiveness.
Readers don't need to read Wings of Starlight, the earlier book in the series, to enjoy this one. Although knowledge of the fairy world isn't necessary to enjoy the story, kids who grew up with the Disney Fairies movies and are ready for light teen romance that's heavy on magic and adventure, but light on spice, will likely enjoy this second book in the series.
