What's the Story?
WINGS OF STARLIGHT tells the story of Clarion, the first governing-talent fairy to be born in generations. As her coronation approaches, Clarion is sure she will be a disappointment. Not only does her style differ from the reserved, regal bearing of her mentor, Queen Elvina, but Clarion has yet to fully master her magical gifts. Then, when monsters terrorize the lands of Pixie Hollow, Clarion sees an opportunity to prove herself worthy. But when she approaches the Winter Woods in search of the monsters, she finds Milori, the young Warden of the Winter Woods. Can they work together to save all of Pixie Hollow, or will their alliance prove more dangerous than it's worth?
Is It Any Good?
Perfect for older fans of the Tinkerbell movies and books, this story is a sweet read that combines page-turning adventure, magic, and a bit of romance, all set in the land of Pixie Hollow. The Wings of Starlight plot is fairly straightforward, but well-written, with likable characters. Allison Saft's lovely descriptions capture the fairy realm in all it's wondrousness.
Both Clarion and Milori are characters that appear in the movie Secret of the Wings. This book tells the full story of their first meeting and subsequent romance, which is alluded to in the movie. People who are unfamiliar with the Disney Fairies franchise may not connect to the story as much, but those who grew up on these stories should find much to enjoy.
