10 Days of a Curious Man
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
IN 10 DAYS OF A CURIOUS MAN, as he seeks inspiration for a mystery he's writing, Sadik (Nejat Isler) sets out to try to find a woman who's gone missing in Istanbul. Soon he discovers that every clue brings him further away from finding her and closer to unraveling a network of decay and crime hiding in plain sight.
Is It Any Good?
If this is your first film in the 10 Days series, proceed with caution. If it's not, then you're likely already familiar with the convoluted nature of this Turkish series, and 10 Days of a Curious Man is to your taste. Once again, good-natured but ill-tempered writer/investigator Sadik finds himself as the unlikely mystery solver in a mess he'd rather not be involved in. But as if drawn by an invisible force, and his eternal writer's block, he realizes that real life can be more twisted than whatever his imagination can conjure.
Isler's performance as the often droll Sadik makes the film more entertaining than it has any right to be, but the more the plot advances, the less the actor can do to maintain the viewer's interest. Like the other films in the series, Curious Man uses violence when it seems to be running out of wit, which would be the opposite of what a good mystery editor would tell a writer in distress.

What did you think about the film's violence? Was it necessary? Why, or why not?
Have you seen the other films in the 10 Days series? How does Sadik show growth as a character?
