A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this movie.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that 10 Minutes Gone is a 2019 action movie in which Bruce Willis plays the mastermind behind a bank heist that goes wrong. Expect a lot of action movie violence, including an extended shootout between robbers and police outside a bank. Characters are pistol-whipped and knocked out and shot and killed. Shootings are sometimes bloody. Fighting with guns, assault rifles. Strong language throughout, including "f--k" and "motherf--ker." Cigarette smoking. Whiskey and beer drinking.

What's the Story?
In 10 MINUTES GONE, Rex (Bruce Willis) is on the top floor of a Cincinnati high rise, directing what should be an easy bank heist. The man in charge is Frank (Michael Chiklis), an expert safecracker, and his brother Joe, who is trying to redeem himself after messing up a recent attempt at robbery. As the robbery begins, it seems that everything is going smoothly, but as Frank and Joe acquire the jewels they've been hired to retrieve, the alarms go off, and once they're outside, an unknown assailant knocks Frank out and murders Joe. When Frank wakes up, he knows that he'll be suspected by Rex of taking the jewels and running, even though he doesn't have the jewels. Therefore, Frank goes to the bar where Joe's girlfriend Claire works, and the two go searching for the others who took part in the heist to find out who betrayed them before Rex and his hired guns take Frank out.
Is It Any Good?
This a violent and poorly-made action movie that's also laden with too many cliches to tally. 10 Minutes Gone starts out with most of a gang planning a heist and discussing it in a bar over beers and whiskey (the best way to plan heists, naturally), and shortly after, it's difficult to determine what gets clumsier, the heist or the movie itself.
There's something about jewels, and that's why Bruce Willis' character tries to lead the action from the relative safety of the top floor of an abandoned Cincinnati high rise, but the movie itself settles into a basic "getting even" story where Michael Chiklis' character hunts down the other members of the heist after his brother is murdered. As a bonus, the movie even has the "dizzy" camera special effect to show the viewer what it's like to be pistol-whipped, in case you were wondering. It's flat acting paired with a cliched story.
