What's the Story?

Is It Any Good?
A somewhat clever take on the murder mystery genre finds some good fun, especially in the performances. Whether the actual comedy in 7 Women and a Murder is successful will vary, but the film is playful, fun, and a fast watch. Some of the characters are thinly drawn, but each is performed with gusto and moxie by the cast, who clearly had a fun time. This lack of weight or seriousness might be too off-putting for some, but it's consistent.
Further, sometimes some of the goofiness ruins the suspension of disbelief, but the pace and mini-reveals happen so quickly that it's never long until the next bit, scene, catastrophe, or surprise. The ending may divide a few, but once finished, most won't feel like it was a complete waste of time.
