What's the Story?

ANOTHER SWEET CHRISTMAS follows Sophie (Candace Cameron Bure) and Sam (Cameron Mathison), whose real-life romance becomes the basis for a Christmas film within the film. But when the cameras stop rolling, the film production's challenges carry over into the couple's real-life relationship as their love story is put to the ultimate test.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 1 ):

This is yet another predictable, sappy Christmas romance to add to the holiday season's "watchable but slightly underwhelming" movie list. Another Sweet Christmas is the sequel to the similarly sentimental Home Sweet Christmas, which also starred Cameron Bure and Mathison. The film-within-a-film storyline really plays up the idea of relationship perception vs. relationship reality, which is definitely relatable in the world of social media, given the pressure to keep up appearances. And the story doesn't shy away from real-life couple challenges, miscommunications, and conflicting expectations, really leaning into the support needed for love's survival when times get tough—even amid distractions like the glitz of holiday lights, the glam of film production, and the warm fuzzies of a holiday romance. But overall this basic holiday romance feels like a lackluster Hallmark TV film that only found its way to the big screen thanks to some kind of Christmas miracle.

  • Do you think that people today struggle to "perform" on social media and in real life? How can you tell the difference between someone's genuine emotions and "acted" feelings?

  • What can we do to stay true to ourselves, even when others are watching?
