Blue's Big City Adventure
What's the Story?
In BLUE'S BIG CITY ADVENTURE, Josh gets an audition for a Broadway musical with the famous Rainbow Puppy but loses his handy notebook and doesn't know which theater to go to after arriving in New York City. Can his friends, a familiar detective, and viewers work together to solve the Blue's Clues game and help him make it to the audition in time?
Is It Any Good?
Though a bit long, this is an engaging and educational movie that's perfectly suited to preschoolers. Blue's Big City Adventure uses music and dancing, plus cameos by some of Broadway's biggest names, to teach young viewers about staying positive, dealing with feeling overwhelmed, and being a good friend. Many parents may also recognize the cast of the original Blue's Clues series from the 1990s popping up in supporting roles. Kids will delight in the mixture of short and snappy songs with longer dance tunes that will have them bopping along at home, especially when Josh breaks the fourth wall and invites them to join in. They'll also enjoy the interactive element of helping to solve the mystery of where Josh's big audition is taking place -- though this might make repeated viewings a bit tedious. Regardless, the look at New York City and the Broadway scene through a child's viewpoint is sure to delight.
