Parents' Guide to Damaged

Parents need to know that Damaged is a violent crime thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson and Gianni Capaldi as detectives with tortured pasts whose paths cross after a horrific killing spree in Scotland that seems connected to killings in Chicago five years prior. Several gruesome killings are shown, though most of the brutal murders appear off camera or blurred for the audience, with gory and disturbing aftermath. There's intense suspense and lots of blood, plus gunshot wounds, disturbing sounds, and images of severed heads and mutilated body parts. Brief sexual content includes a scene of implied masturbation. Religious references are used throughout, some suggesting cult, satanic, and dark religious symbolism. Strong language includes "f--k," "bitch," "bulls--t," and "s--t," along with milder words like "piss off," "jeez," "bloody," "anti-Christ," and exclamations of "Christ" and "oh my God." Adults drink frequently (sometimes too much), and there's drinking on the job and drinking and driving. Vincent Cassel co-stars.
