Descendants: Wicked Wonderland
What's the Story?
Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) are best buddies now in Descendants: Wicked Wonderland. So when Red's mom, the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora), sends out an SOS, Red gathers Chloe, new sister Pink (Liamani Segura), and friend Luis Madrigal (Alexandro Byrd) to save the day. The Villain Kids say they want to help too, but can they be trusted? The adventure into Wonderland will test their loyalties and set them up against a new villain, Maddox (Leonardo Nam).
Is It Any Good?
This franchise does well to revel in its own campiness. The makers and stars of Descendants: Wicked Wonderland know they're part of an over-the-top proposition: live-action teenage characters (and their parents) plucked from fairytales but still living in a make-believe world—oh, and singing and dancing too. It's a formula that seems to work for Disney, and in this case the result is silly but endearing. The messages are simplistic, but there's a certain charm in that as well.

The "heroes" and the "villains" unite to save the Queen of Hearts. How does teamwork benefit them all?
How do the female leads compare to other women in traditional fairytales? Do they fall into any stereotypes? Are they portrayed as smart and strong, as victims, or both?
