Devara Part 1
What's the Story?
DEVARA PART 1 is an epic tale that follows Devara (N.T. Rama Rao Jr.), a village chief, who decides to put an end to smuggling, upsetting other chieftains, including the violent Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan). However, things are not as they seem, as Devara's son, Vara, comes into the action.
Is It Any Good?
This Indian epic action-thriller is a violent bloodbath that trades any gripping or interesting plotlines for mindless machoism. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara Part 1 has a famous cast with Rao Jr. playing both its father and son central characters, while Khan takes up the role of the movie's key villain. Yet even these big names will struggle to keep viewers hooked. The near three-hour runtime feels exhausting, with the repetitive action sequences becoming increasingly gory as the film progresses. As for the female characters, they are reduced to mere decorative props, playing second fiddle to the men and their weapons.
