What's the Story?

In EPIC TAILS, young mouse Pattie (voiced by Ellie Zeiler) gets her chance to be a hero when the golden fleece that has protected her city for years is taken by a jealous Poseidon (Terrence Scammell). Poseidon threatens to destroy the city unless they create a statue in seven days, so Pattie and her makeshift crew set out to find a mythical treasure fit for the statue's trident.

This tale set against the myths of Ancient Greece is suitably exciting and epic. Epic Tails is a multilayered animated adventure—quite literally—for all the family. On the ground, it is full of inspirational and likable characters. Watching over them from on high is a cast of gods, from Zeus to Hermes, each of them flawed, petty, and fun. Adventurous mouse Pattie and her ragtag crew of makeshift heroes face a vast array of inventive takes on mythical creatures, and the action is always thrilling and creative. A celebration of knowledge, perseverance, and courage, the film is suitable for almost all ages, with jokes that work for the youngest of kids, action for those who want some grit, and jokes for the adults that lean into cultural touch points that include The A-Team and The Godfather.
