What's the Story?
Two rival brothers (Edward Burns and Brian d'Arcy James) and their children come together as a family in FINNEGAN'S FOURSOME to honor their father's last wishes. Traveling to Ireland to scatter his ashes on the golf courses that he loved, the family reflects on how golf, traditions, legacy, relationships, and love can support them in times of grief.
Is It Any Good?
With heavy dialogue on an even heavier subject, Finnegan's Foursome could interest adults but might be a tough sell for teens. Tackling death, grief, and loss as it relates to the game of golf, this film presents some nice moments of self-reflection, family traditions, and legacy. Edward Burns and Brian d'Arcy James' constant banter on-screen carries the film, though the bickering and betting occasionally get old. The film would have benefited from some editing, as it feels overly long. Best for adults who love golf and family dramas.
