What's the Story?
After his father's disappearance, HAIDER (Shahid Kapoor) returns to Kashmir looking for answers. He soon comes to realize that things are not what they seem.
Is It Any Good?
This intense Hindi-language action crime drama is filled with gripping performances. Haider is a breathtaking adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, reimagining the story in the conflict-ridden Indian city of Kashmir. While the political climate is intricately woven into the plot, director Vishal Bhardwaj leaves no stone unturned in exploring the delicate, conflicted nature of the characters' relationships. As the lead, Kapoor delivers a memorable portrayal of Haider's existential angst, matched by Tabu's haunting performance as Ghazala, his tormented mother.
