What's the Story?
In HERE THE WHOLE TIME, insecure Felipe's (Miguel Lallo) peaceful summer vacation and break from school bullies gets turned upside down when cute neighbor and childhood friend Caio (Diego Lira) unexpectedly crashes at his house for 15 days. Will they restart their friendship and maybe even something more?
Is It Any Good?
With just enough quirk and wit to shake up the usual genre tropes, this film tells a lighthearted LGBTQ+ teen first love story with tender care. Brightly colored visuals reflect the film's upbeat vibes, and the sensitive handling of Felipe's insecurities keeps the film from veering into heavy-handed preaching about body positivity.
Still, the acting can be uneven at times, the passion is only mild, and the ending feels a bit rushed. But teens who like gentle romcoms will find plenty to enjoy in this sweet coming-of-age tale.
